H2O Church Youth Group exists for students 9-14 years old to provide them with a safe place to hang out where we can connect with Jesus, with each other, and the community.
How we do this:
- Through music & creative time
- Group building games & activities
- Small group and large group teaching & talking time
- Through the teaching on subjects that are relevant to them (gossip, bullying, knowing how to read and understand the Bible & their faith, how to ‘Live Jesus & Love People’.
Does it cost anything?
Can my child bring friends?
Yes, we ask that the friends be within the age group of 9-14 years old.
Can I sit in and see what is going on?
Yes, we are happy to have parents sit in. We don’t want parents to become regular attenders of the youth group nights. There are certain liability reasons for this and we want the kids to be free to be themselves. Parents that do visit will need to be signed in and have a ‘visitor’ name tag.
Are your workers trained and screened?
Yes, all of our adult workers are trained and have undergone a criminal background check (including checks against the sex offender database). These background checks are repeated yearly for all workers.
What about my child that is over 14 years old?
At this time, we don’t have a youth ministry for older students. However, if there is a student 15-18 years old that wants to be involved, we do have opportunities to help in a variety of leadership tasks. It would be a very rewarding experience for them.
Can they come early and stay late?
The doors are open weekly at 5:30pm for kids to come in and play video games, chat or just hang out. Because of most nights being school nights, we will not be encouraging students to stay too long after we dismiss.
